What is Santa Barbara GameFest?
Santa Barbara GameFest is the largest LAN party in Santa Barbara as well as your destination for competitive and social gaming. With support for over 40 computers, multiple tournaments for many different games, and casual gaming, we have something for everyone.
What games will we be playing?
Counter-Strike 1.6, Counter-Strike: Source, Quake 3, Warcraft III: Frozen Throne, and Starcraft: Brood Wars, will all be preinstalled on the prebuilt computers.
In addition to the PC games, we will be featuring Rock Band and tournaments for a multitude of console games including but not limited to Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Halo 3, Street Fighter 4, Rock Band 2, Tekken 6, Super Smash Brothers Melee, Guitar Hero and more.
While the games listed on this list are confirmed, we may add to it at any moment so check back frequently for updates.
What games will there be tournaments for?
Currently confirmed tournaments are Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Tekken 6, Street Fighter 4, and Super Smash Brothers Melee. Check back as more are added.
Do I have to pay to attend?
Absolutely not. Santa Barbara Gamefest is about spreading the culture of gaming to as many people as possible. There is no entry fee to get in the door. However, please keep in mind that there may be charges for other things such as the tournaments but those tournaments will pay out prizes so we assure you that their cost will be worth it even if the bragging rights aren't enough to do it for you. Additionally, we will be serving food and drinks throughout the day at reasonable prices to satisfy all your energy and food needs.
Where is it located?
Santa Barbara Gamefest will be located at the campus of Santa Barbara City College in the Campus Center on east campus. A map of the campus along with directions will be forthcoming.
When is Santa Barbara Gamefest?
Santa Barbara Gamefest is scheduled for Saturday April 17, 2010 and is set to begin at 12:00PM.
Can I come even if I don't play PC games?
Of course. We'd love for you to participate in tournaments or just play Rock Band and meet other gamers. This event is for all gamers. Not just PC gamers. Hey, and maybe while you are here you will find a PC game you really enjoy at one of our prebuilt stations.
